General Info

Emi | Growing | Slim was inspired by my willingness to write the truth about my story and my desire to help others. I’ve struggled with accepting my body image for as long as I can remember. I’ve always dreamed of one day waking up with a perfect tan and taking a run on the beach in a 2 piece bikini like in Baywatch. How silly that may sound, but to be honest, I just wanted to be “beautiful.” With a set of chicken legs and a doughnut around my waist, I was definitely not the Baywatch Chick. I remember feeling my spirit grow darker and sadder with every extra pound I gained. All these insecurities bread emotional imbalance, comparing, depression, and crying nights. It wasn’t until my early 20s I realized I didn’t like the girl I’d become inside or out and embarked a future unknown to me. Years have passed and I am definitely NOT that girl anymore. Mostly because I have overcome many of the internal struggles that challenged me in my youth. Instead of mopping in my negativity, I took control over my life. I’ve developed into a woman entrepreneur with a penchant for writing, dancing, traveling, helping, laughing and keeping life in a positive momentum. In the process, I’ve attracted a lot attention. Kinda like a Geek to Sheek type thing. So Emi | Growing | Slim is my way of sharing with the world how I’ve been able to stay positive amidst all the struggles we endure on a daily basis. Life isn’t meant to be heavy and gloom, nor needy or restrained, nor emotionally overwhelmed and lost-in-the-sauce. Over the last couple years, I’ve challenged myself to break bad habits and live a life path worth talking about. Letting go of the skeletons in the closet, and simply being me. Year to Date, I am Emi. I am a funny but sensitive person. I am a lover, a sister, daughter, a friend, you name it. I am a walking billboard for all the places I’ve been and all those who have enriched my life. By Growing | Slim I am taking steps towards my goals, my dreams…walking away from all the makes me ‘fat’ and heavy. I am now focused on growing into Emi and slimming into my natural self. Life is meant to be light, free, and open to what you will make of it. Growing | Slim you are proactively getting back to the real you, and daring to be that amazing person you’ve always had inside.
