Gramercy MRI recently changed its tax ID--they now bill under the NYU Radiology tax ID--and this was overlooked at the time I made an appointment. Both a receptionist and a biller had assured me that the facility would participate in my insurance network (hence, I would pay zero for tests) BEFORE I came in. Moreover, their policy is NOT to admit patients IF their health plans do not pay. Sure enough, FIVE TESTS AND FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS later, their billers let me know that the tx ID has changed, and my insurance will not pay a single cent. What am I supposed to do now???

The physical therapist was decent, maybe even good. But the experience going there is not fun. The receptionist treats you like you're not welcome. They really focus more on chatting with one another than with listening to patients and setting up necessary appointments.



The nurse left me in a room for 25 minutes, doting on some handsome lawyer who was clearly a regular. Would have been OK by me if I wasn't needing something and strapped to a machine. If the admin staff were better, not giving preferential treatment to some patients and not chatting amongst themselves like it was high school, this would be a decent place.
