Carla Kreft is a Naturopathic Physician and licensed acupuncturist, with a Masters in Oriental Medicine. She earned her degrees after 6 years of postgraduate study at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She currently teaches Human Physiology at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She has served as acupuncture fellow at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she helped create a prenatal acupuncture program. At Lutheran, Carla primarily provided acupuncture to women during labor and delivery, and worked in post-stroke rehabilitation. Carla’s private practice is integrative and eclectic. She has great respect for the classical roots of Chinese medicine and is also passionate about modern sciences. She regularly examines her clients’ lab work, looking for patterns that might be suggestive of dysfunctions, long before they manifest as frank pathologies, working with physicians to determine the root of a patient’s ailments. Carla listens carefully to her patients and makes individualized recommendations. While she will prescribe supplements and give advice about dietary or lifestyle changes, Carla draws from a variety of modalities to provide a unique approach to healthcare. She has a preference for classical Chinese herbal formulas and acupuncture treatments according to her training. However, she will also use various forms of bodywork, as needed, such as, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, structural integration, myofascial release, strain-counterstrain, and Bowen technique. She will prescribe homeopathic remedies, when they fit, in the styles of Divvya Chaabra and Massimo Mangialavore. Carla also uses drainage remedies, and naturopathic hydrotherapy as well as a Med-tronik Mora Super machine to help narrow down the best treatment options for clients who are interested in Biological medicine.
