Coin Authentication PCGS was formed in 1986 by several prominent coin dealers and numismatic experts and is recognized as the one of the largest and most respected third party grading service for rare coins. PCGS was founded in response to inconsistencies in the appraisal of rare coins and we use their services on many of our coins. Founded in 1987, the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation is a third party provider of coin grading services. It is also the official grading service of the American Numismatic Association ( ANA ).
