AIPAC, also known as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, includes more than 100,000 members and is one of the leading domestic lobbies. It works with democratic and republican political leaders throughout the United States to strengthen the relationship between the U.S. and Israel. AIPAC promotes strategic cooperation between the two nations to develop U.S. antiterrorist policies; share homeland security techniques and technologies; and stop Iran from acquiring weapons of mass destruction. Additionally, the organization actively educates and works with candidates for federal office, white house, pentagon and state department officials, as well as other policymakers whose decisions affect Israel's future and America's policies in the Middle East.
