About Activa Physical Therapy Activa Physical Therapy is a full-service Physical Therapy practice located in mid-town New York City, and is owned and operated by Vanessa M. Tory, PT. About Vanessa M. Tory Vanessa M. Tory graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Daemen College in Buffalo New York in 1997, and has been licensed to practice Physical Therapy in New York State since 1997. She has spent approximately 11 years in Orthopedic Rehabilitation and the last 8 years in private practice. Vanessa has always been active in a variety of sports including Tennis, running and biking and has won awards in several biathlons. Ms. Tory has had the opportunity to observe several surgical procedures with some of the best, well-known, surgeons in Manhattan. Surgeries viewed included Arthroscopic Meniscectomy, Anterior Cruciate Ligament Repair/Replacement, Arthroscopic and Open Rotator Cuff Repair and Diskectomies of the Lumbar and Cervical Spine. She has been recognized by a variety of academic institutions for her participation as a Clinical Instructor for promising Physical Therapy students from Universities including Columbia University, New York University, Long Island University, The University of Sciences in Philadelphia, College of Misericordia and Daemen College.
