The New Smyrna Beach of Florida governs the New Smyrna Beach Public Works Department. The Public Works Department caters to the needs of the citizens of New Smyrna Beach. It operates a number of divisions, such as building and maintenance division, fleet maintenance division, streets division, solid waste and recycling management. The department provides maintained roads and storm water systems and comprehensive management of the solid waste reduction, collection, recycling and disposal. In addition, it also provides proactive rehabilitation of city buildings and facilities and proactive maintenance of the city's fleet.
