In 1976, Henry Shoenthal, M.D. started the medical practice with only one provider. The practice now consists of seven providers, which include two Physicians and five Physician Assistants. In 2007, the practice became certified as a Rural Health Clinic. This certification permits us to give better service to our medically underserved area. Expansive hours allow for more flexibility for our patients. Along with the medical practice, the complex also includes UPMC Bedford - for labs and x-rays, Johnstown Heart and Vascular Center, Cambria Somerset Counseling, Penn Home Medical Supply, and Whysong's Pharmacy. Although there have been many changes to the practice over the years, the main goal has always been to serve the patients in the area.
