We love to play in the clay!

General Info

Since the early 1990s, Earth and Fire has been a part of New Orleans’ Maple Street neighborhood. This walkable shopping district is full of local coffee shops and bookstores, clothing stores and restaurants. Owner Amanda Mundee teaches classes for beginner and intermediate level students. Classes cover throwing on the wheel, hand building and glazing techniques. In addition to classes, the studio is an artist’s workshop for a dozen independent artists working in clay. When you drop by, you can browse the artists’ latest pieces, looking for a great gift to buy. You might also catch an artist trimming a piece on the wheel, or applying layers of original glazes, mixed in-house. Keep an eye out for our semiannual student sale held in the spring and the fall, when strolling up and down Maple Street is at its best.
