Founded in 1929, New Milford Community Ambulance Corporation is one of the oldest, volunteer ambulance services in Connecticut. It is a regional paramedic service that is based in New Milford Hospital and offers 911 emergency medical services. New Milford Community Ambulance Corporation has a fleet of ambulances that include the 1999 Horton Type III and 2003 Braun Type III. The ambulance service also provides its members with the 2003 GMC Envoy responder vehicle. Its vehicles are fully stocked with emergency medical equipment. New Milford Community Ambulance Corporation employs more than 65 staff members, as well as is a recipient of the Bruce Nearing Award. Its volunteers respond to over 1,600 calls per year. New Milford Community Ambulance Corporation works in conjunction with the New Milford Police Department, Northville Fire Department, New Milford Hospital, and Water Witch Hose Company.
