General Info
Clary Evans, MD, is a UK board certified radiation oncologist at the Northwell Health Center for Advanced Medicine in New Hyde Park, New York. She specializes in treating breast, prostate, kidney, bladder, and skin cancers and lymphoma, and is the disease team lead for radiation oncology for lymphoma. Dr. Evans became interested in medicine because it merged her interest in science with the opportunity to interact with people. “Medicine is the real-life exposure of science,” she says. She chose oncology because of the relationships that she formed with patients who had been diagnosed with cancer. She especially enjoys the technical challenge of radiation oncology. “It’s a unique fusion of highly technical skills with the opportunity to form deeply meaningful relationships with many different people,” she says. Having received her medical degree from the University of Oxford in England, Dr. Evans brings an international perspective to her work. Her residencies were at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London and Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, England. Dr. Evans came to the United States in 2018 and was a researcher at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. She joined Northwell as a clinician in 2020. Dr. Evans works with a team of surgeons, medical oncologists, radiologists and pathologists. “I work with a fantastic team who put the patient experience top of the list, so patients can have confidence in the care they’re receiving,” she says. Dr. Evans is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology. “The most fulfilling part of this job is being in a clinic room with patients and giving them holistic care,” says Dr. Evans. “It’s the most important aspect of a doctor-patient relationship.”
