Dr. Elzbieta (Elizabeth) Basil comes from a medically oriented family in which she is one of five doctors. She was awarded the degree of Medical Doctor, Stomatology, from the Medical Academy of Bialystok, Poland in 1989, and the degree of Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 1998. Dr. Basil is fluent in the English, Polish and Russian languages. She has continually sought advanced training throughout her practice years, especially in the fields of cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, implantology, and is accredited in dental implant systems as well as invisible orthodontic treatment. Dr. Basil has been honored with several awards, including awards from the Academy of Operative Dentistry for outstanding achievement in operative dentistry, the American Association of Endodontics for exceptional abilities in Endodontics, and the Academy of Dental Materials for excellence in dental materials science. Since 2005, Dr. Basil has been appointed a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral Health and Diagnostic Sciences at the University Of Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine. Her main professional interests are restorative dentistry and cosmetic reconstruction. For patients who are missing some or all of their teeth, dental implants provide a natural-looking, stable alternative to conventional dentures, bridges, and partial or complete dentures, Dr. Basil explains to her patients that dental implants never develop decay nor require root canals, are generally more resistant to gum disease, and helps preserve the jawbone, which prevents premature aging. Team Approach Dr. Basil works in collaboration with a group of outstanding periodontists, oral surgeons and specialists in other disciplines, with whom she communicates regularly to help coordinate care for patients whose treatment needs require a multidisciplinary approach.
