  Ruthie Sheets joined Harris, Creech, Ward & Blackerby in September, 2017. Ruthie received her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2017. Her honors include a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Juvenile Law and an Outstanding Family Law Student Award from the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Ruthie also served as the President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund during her time at Wake Forest University School of Law. Ruthie received a Bachelor of the Arts in political science with a concentration in pre-law and a minor in sociology in 2013 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Greensboro, NC, graduating summa cum laude.

  Jay Salsman joined Harris, Creech, Ward & Blackerby in 2005 and is a partner in the firm.  His practice focuses on a wide variety of civil litigation matters.  Jay defends professionals in claims alleging malpractice and represents businesses, insurance companies, and individuals in matters involving personal injury, premises liability, commercial disputes, and construction defects.  He additionally represents insurers in first-party litigation involving complex coverage issues, allegations of bad faith, and subrogation.
