Picture this. You are POW and you are being tortured by inserting an object under one of your toe nails and then in one fast move, your toe nail is "yanked" out from your toe ! This is what happened to me at Dr Sussman's Office when I went for an ingrown toe nail. He suggested the only way to correct the problem was to remove the nail completely. I acceded with some reservation since previously I had gone to another Dr. for the same condition on another toe and the nail was partially cut but not removed completely. As he proceeded, he gave me an injection of anesthesia; but in his rush to accommodate more patients into his cramped schedule, he rushed the procedure and did not wait long enough for the drug to take effect, He waited about 5 mins.. He then......proceeded to insert a knife under the nail to loosen it from the toe and then......Mother of God! he "yanked" it out...... only after 5 minutes from being injected with anesthesia!.
