Heard about Jay Cafe from a friend. Drove over two hours just to eat there. Well worth the drive. From the fried pickles to the peach cobbler and everything in between, great. The staff was very friendly and prompt. The owner stopped by our table to see how our food and service was. This kind of concern goes a long way with me. Am definitely going back and would highly recommend.

Excellent food. We have dined there for breakfast and dinner and it was great. Warm hospitality from owners and employees. Would reccomend Jay Cafe to everyone. Everything is homemade. Peaniut Butter pie and Peach cobbler the best. The Owners work right along with the employees whch is very impressive. This is such a down to earth cafe which you rarely find. It hit 5 stars plus wth us. Totally over the top.

My wife and I ate lunch at Jay's because we had heard good things about the place. Were we ever disappointed. My wife got the shrimp which was nasty frozen shrimp with a simply awful texture and flavor. I had the chicken fired steak which appeared to also have been frozen and the meat was filled with nonmeat ingredients that gave the steak a strange flavor. I had as sides, green beans and mashed potatoes which I could not eat. They were without flavor and I added much salt but never was able to get these items fit to eat. The rolls were little puffs of hollow bread. That was our first and last time to eat at Jay's. We drove down to Needville from Richmond just to eat there which means we passed good restaurants to get to Jay's. Save yourself some time and money and give Jay's a pass.

My husband and I took the kids Saturday night and they have...GREAT food...GREAT service! My 13 year old has found his new favorite restaurant, only 3 miles from our home! The homemade bread rolls and the pie are FANTASTIC.
