Located in Navarre, Fla., the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office offers services for the protection of residents lives and property, as well as deterrence, detection and investigation of criminal activities. It maintains a patrol division that conducts regular patrols and responds to calls for service. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office also has an investigation division that performs duties related to processing of crime scenes, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and filing charges for the violations of misdemeanor and felony crimes. The office maintains a citizens law enforcement academy that provides citizens with an understanding of the policies, procedures and techniques used by the sheriff s office in carrying out their duties. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior.
