Established in 1972, The Women's Center Inc. is a social service and welfare organization for women and children. Based in Carbondale, Ill., the organization promotes a safer community by helping the survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Southern Illinois. The Women's Center Inc. provides a number of services, such as round-the-clock crisis hotline intervention, emergency shelter, food, supplies and transportation. It also caters individual and group support, counseling information, referrals, education, case management, legal, medical and personal advocacy.
