The company purchases electricity and transmits and sells it to more than 323,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers spread over 330 square miles of area in Connecticut. Its projects include the Trumbull and Broadway substations. The United Illuminating Company also operates a nearly 4-acre open-air transmission line switching station.
