Parenting coordination is a court-appointed process that assists separated or divorced families who are having difficulty implementing their court order. When parents cannot cooperate, parenting coordination helps parents understand the court order and add specific details and protocols so it is easier to implement without continued conflict. The PC helps parents learn how to parent effectively after divorce, communicate, and resolve disputes regarding issues affecting their children. If the parents cannot agree, the PC acts as an impartial decision maker to resolve disputes quickly. Because the PC has the authority of the court, the decisions are binding.
