- FramingAlthough some windows were saved, Miller had to replace the old framing on 10 windows which included 4x4 posts, the sills, and the header. The wood had deteriorated to the point of leaking and not being able to be opened.
- FireplacesMiller restored the flagstone-capped chimney, repointed all the brick, painted the wood around the windows and was in the process of working on restoring a second chimney. He will also be rebuilding a walk-in fireplace that had been removed at one point.
- Room AdditionsAlthough the Carpenters had invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into additions and renovations to preserve the old home, Miller had to repair stucco, repoint stone, rechink logs, reseal a chimney and even remove a tree.

- SunroomsThe couple love to sit in their sunroom or on their patio in the evening and watch the sun set over the pasture. The sunroom was the newest addition they had made on the home. Evidence of some of the changes made to the home over the years showed marks along the kitchen’s brick wall where a staircase had once been. Road changes resulted in using the back of the house as the front.
- Driveways“I’ll never forget the day I saw the house. I called my husband; I said this is it. It’s an Eden. I found it,” said Allison Broadbent. “It was just a little dirt lane and it was all overgrown; actually the trees, everything. Grass was growing up through the middle of the driveway.”

- Gutters“This barn was in sad shape,” Miller began, “Morris Kinder wanted me to give him a rough idea of what it would cost to repoint the barn and once we were in he said, ‘hey, can you do the gutters, the soffits, the windows, the doors...’ and we just kept on going and we ended up restoring the whole barn. We even put a new cupola on top. Yes, we’re a masonry company, but we do restoration from top to bottom.”
- SidingMiller replaced approximately 20 tons of stone in the end gable with steel siding to remove the pressure. To try to preserve the back wall, two windows were removed and stone left over from the gable was used to tie the space together. Once the barn’s restoration was complete, Miller worked on the house.
- Residential Roof RepairThe huge barn had a significant leaning of the structure beginning at the far end of the which put pressure across the structure causing the other end to bow a bit, but yet the roofing timbers remained straight giving indication that the roof was replaced after the lean had occurred according to Tim Miller, T.Miller Masonry, Topton.
