Products Tempest-GEMS is a grant expense management system with an integrated document management system. Designed to comply with the complexities of federal grant programs administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the software tracks financial transactions, collects evidentiary documents, and prepares grant compliance products. Currently, grant recipients use spreadsheets to manage multi-million dollar projects. FEMA provides funding to grant recipients to offset grant management costs. Tempest-GEMS’ pricing model dovetails with FEMA policy in such a manner that Storm Petrel expects software costs to be reimbursed by FEMA. Furthermore, the use of the software reduces errors, reduces the grant management costs, and speeds the process of grant closure and subsequent reimbursement. Tempest-Time effectively and accurately captures grant management costs for disaster recovery consultants.
