Founded in 1973, the Sexual Assault Crisis Center, also known as SACC, is a private nonprofit agency that provides crisis intervention, counseling and legislative issue handling services. Located in Knoxville, Tenn., the agency also offers individual and family therapy sessions. It provides individual protection and recognition services related to abuse and neglect. The Sexual Assault Crisis Center offers self-defense classes that include instruction in physical self-defense techniques. The agency provides forensic testing and training-related services. In addition, it operates support groups that offer therapeutic and educational services. The Sexual Assault Crisis Center provides in-school programs that include sexual harassment prevention services and problem solving skills training.
