Founded in 1991, Safe Harbor Children's Shelter is a private, nonprofit organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The organization is a member of the Southeastern Network of Youth & Family Services, Georgia Emergency Shelter Association, Combined Federal Campaign, National Network for Youth, Runaway Switchboard and Glynn County Chamber of Commerce. Safe Harbor Children's Shelter is licensed by the Georgia Department of Human Resources. It offers shelter, crisis intervention, therapeutic assessment, individual, family and group counseling, school placement, tutoring, transportation and after-care services. It also organizes a variety of recreational, social and cultural activities. Safe Harbor Children's Shelter is located in Brunswick, Ga.
