The Columbus Division of Police is responsible for law enforcement, crime prevention, and protection of life and property in the city of Columbus, Ohio. It operates administrative, investigative, patrol and support services subdivisions. The division s investigations unit handles cases related to homicide, robbery, forgery, burglary, larceny, auto theft, fraud, and sexual and aggravated assaults. In addition, the Columbus Division of Police has a traffic bureau that includes an accident investigation squad, freeway patrol, and mounted and motorcycle units.
