The Building Inspections Division is a public service agency that works under the government of the city of New Port Richey, Fla. It provides review and inspection services for building construction and related activities. The division is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Pasco County, Fla., as related to the construction industry. The Building Inspections Division reviews plans for various proposed new construction projects and alterations and conducts on-site inspections for conformity to established codes and county ordinances. It is also responsible for the issuance of the certificates of competency to construction trade workers and verifying their conformity to state licensing requirements. The division investigates complaints regarding unlicensed contractors, unpermitted work and substandard practices within the construction industry.
