The Ocala Police Department offers law enforcement services in partnership with the community, government agencies, private groups and individuals to fight crime, maintain order, provide safe and efficient traffic control and improve the quality of life for citizens of Ocala, Fla. It has various divisions, including community policing patrol, investigations, drug enforcement, professional standards, technical services, youth development, crime prevention, public information and homeland security. The police department also has various special operations units, such as traffic enforcement, K-9, special deployment, special weapons and tactics, mobile field force, community service and school crossing guards. It also has various support operations, including 911 dispatch, records division, employer services, fiscal management, resource development, information systems, victim and witness advocate, and supply and facility and fleet maintenance.
