Founded in 1857 as the Chicago Relief and Aid Society, Metropolitan Family Services offers a wide range of community-based services. It provides case management and counseling services for individuals and families. The organization offers various care and support services for children. Metropolitan Family Services provides in-home respite and emergency shelter for senior citizens. Additionally, it offers policy analysis, coalition building and lobbying services. The organization also provides benefit analysis, employee training, crisis intervention and emergency response services for business organizations. Metropolitan Family Services conducts workshops on issues related to communication skills, stress and financial management and smoking cessation.
