The dispatcher/reservations person for this firm treats customers as if Red Top was the only choice consumers had. After the response to my initial comment on the failings of their website, I simply stated, "Why don't I call another cab company, which I did. I will not bother to call Red Top of Fairfax again and will recommend to others not to "bother" them. They would really prefer you to call another cab company. Burk, VA customer I
I have always had good luck with red top until recently. The last 2 times being the worse. First, the cab took me to the wrong destination, even though i gave the right address. The right place 10 miles other direction. They got me there, but never deducted the meter for taking to wrong place first. When i complained, he acted like he no understand english. Last night, 3 people shared a cab. the fare was about 5 dollars for the first guy. He handed $30 to the driver and said he was paying the fare for us too. The driver never reset the meter, and charged the entire fare, from the original location, to the first guys house, to my house, with 3 people registered. I asked why 3 on meter, and he said he would adjust it. I asked how, and he said dont worry. We got to my house, and he asked for the full fare. I said the other guy paid for it, and he said no he didnt. So we called the other guy and asked - the driver got mad and said was none of our business, was between them. never again
I had used Red Top regularly to go to Dulles with no problems, and on July 10 I called and was told that the cab would be at my house in 15 minutes or less (which was standard for them--and they almost always arrived early). I went outside within five minutes with my luggage to wait. Almost an hour later, after four phone calls, the cab finally arrived...by then, I was too late to make my flight. Red Top insisted that the driver had been to my house, but since I had been standing outside for almost the entire hour, I knew that was not true. They did not bother to apologize. Needless to say, I will not be using Red Top again if I can possibly help it.
Very clean car, driver was friendly and took the most direct root to our destination. Would ride again on my next visit to Arlington, VA.
