General Info

I have been sewing for over 30 years. Much of what I did was for enjoyment, for my home, and my family. In 2009 I decided to fulfill a long-time dream by beginning my own sewing business. Since then I have taught numerous girls and women of all ages. Most were beginners, but some had sewn years earlier and simply wanted a refresher course or to learn new skills. In addition to sewing instruction I do clothing alterations, mending and repair of clothing and other items made of cloth, and custom sewing. I love sewing clothing for children and for the home. I also enjoy working on unique sewing projects such as designing custom fitted sheets for a yacht, creating a clown costume, and making a complete "Mrs. Santa Claus" outfit. Lou Ann's Sewing Room is a place where young and old alike can learn to sew in a fun, friendly and relaxing environment. Classes are small so each student gets the individual attention that may be needed.
