KURE 88.5 FM is Iowa State University s student run radio station. It provides student-produced and student-managed radio entertainment to Iowa State University and the Ames, Iowa, community. KURE's diverse programming features a range of musical genres from indie rock to classical music. In addition, KURE provides the community with live broadcasts from Cyclone sporting events, news programs and talk shows. KURE offers students an opportunity for practical experience in radio broadcasting and business operations. It operates with an all-volunteer student staff. The station s live sports programming includes coverage for several home football games, as well as extensive coverage of Iowa State s men s and women s basketball. The station is non-commercial, but allows on-air acknowledgements of donors. The station makes public address systems available for student rentals and has its own production studio for recording donor announcements.
