Founded in 1972, TLC for Children and Families offers residential treatment, juvenile assessment, youth crisis and street outreach services. Its residential services program serves children and youth in the age group of 11 to 18 years. The organization s treatment plans include counseling, vocational training, medical care, life skills education, tutoring, mentoring and organized recreation. Its intervention specialists provide crisis mediation, situational counseling, resource referral and emergency shelter services. The organization also operates a family services program that provides temporary homes to abused and neglected children and youth. Additionally, the organization offers a range of volunteering opportunities for meal preparation and craft and maintenance projects. TLC for Children and Families is located in Olathe, Kan.
