Jake from J.Guitars did a really nice job on my '69 Fender Mustang. It had been sitting in a closet for the last 20 years, and needed a full cleaning and tuneup - there was a problem with the electronics too. Jake had an estimate for me in a couple of hours, and did a great job cleaning everything up - it now plays and feels like its new. I've talked to a couple of my friends who had their guitars worked on at other music stores, and they were pretty amazed at the low price Jake charged me for the amount of work that he did.

These Jguitar guys are crazy amazing. I gave Jake my '64 SG Pro to set up. After looking at the guitar for 5 seconds Jake knew what the problems were, what needed to be done and explained everything they were going to do to it in detail. Much more than I expected and when I went to pick it up and check it out I couldn't believe it was the same guitar. It hadn't felt that good in 40 years! And the bill for all they did was outrageous. I felt like the commercial where the wife runs out of the store and screams start the car! I'll be taking my guitars to Jguitar from now on. They have a new customer for life.

I cannot say enough good things about Jake. He did wonders on my 7.25" neck radius! Plays like butter now! He's very professional, and you can tell he's really passionate about his craft. Everything was delivered in a timely manner. And his prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend him!

I brought in a 7-string with so much fret buzz on the high end that it made transitioning between clean and distorted riffs very frustrating. I had Jake check out the instrument, and the first thing that impressed me is how quickly he diagnosed the issue. After a full setup was done, I decided that I wanted to change the low end slightly as well, and Jake was happy to make the changes, doing the setup a second, and third time (both for no charge!), until I felt that it sounded just right to me. It's now a pleasure to play my instrument again, without trying to avoid switching to clean riffs! Highly recommended!

This weekend I witnessed a wonder: my Laguna bass guitar coming back to life! The bass had developed some nasty buzzing on a few frets and after extensive research for a reputable luthier, I found J Guitars Custom Shop in Glenside. I met Jake, the owner, last week and he did a superb job on the bass! The buzzing in gone and the guitar is setup to perfection. It plays so smoothly that I can't put it down! Jake loves his craft and it shows in the way he talks and most importantly, in his work. In the shop, I saw three gorgeous acoustic guitar that he is the processing of building. Wow! Highly recommend!

I took an original early 60's Swedish Hagstrom I'd just purchased to Jake to get a clean up, set up, and overall check-up. He called me just a couple hours later with a quote and it was ready a couple days later. The fret board looked nearly new and it played amazingly. Great work, service, and company!

Jake did a fantastic job in correcting some mysterious "rough spots" on the back of my Custom Shop Les Paul Special 1960 reissue. Jake first diagnosed the likely cause of the rough spots and then did an expert job in correcting them and making the neck factory slick. Thank you Jake!!!

I just had 4 poorly cared for instruments brought back from the dead and Jake was the man to resurrect them. He spent an hour with me going over all of the details before I had even decided to leave them with him. The turnaround time was tremendous and Jake was in constant contact while he worked on all of my guitars. He obviously takes great pride in his work. Jake is terrific. I brought my MIM Telecaster to him because the fret edges were exposed during the winter months when the neck shrinks from the cold dry weather. Jake smoothed it out beautifully -- looks and feels great. He also did a full set up for me, adjusting the neck, bridge and pickups which lowered the action and made the guitar sound even brighter and more amazing. He also worked him magic on some spots where I was \"fretting out\" high up on the neck -- a common problem with teles. Very pleasant, honest and knowledgable guy. Highly recommend J Guitars!

Jake did an outstanding job on my Washburn acoustic, repairing 2 cracks in the back and setting it up. It now plays and sounds better than ever and I am having Jake do a full setup on my Larrivee.
