Grandfathers for Golf strives to attract young people ages 6 to 16 to the game of golf, provide opportunities to enhance their skills in the game, and promote their continued interest and involvement. Our primary focus is to work with students considered to be at-risk youth who, based on risk factors such as low socioeconomic status, behavioral problems, and low achievement, run the risk of not acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors needed to become successful adults. To help youth overcome these risk factors, Grandfathers for Golf provides participants with uniforms and equipment, transportation, and free or reduced-price golf lessons in addition to encouragement and mentorship.
