Lou C was very professional and thorough with his inspection. He allowed me to walk some of the inspection with him and taught me a few things (as I was a first time home buyer). He was able to pinpoint some areas of issue ranging from minor to major which allowed me to proceed with confidence.

Very unprofessional. Report was based on fabrications. A home Inspection should be a professional factual inspection of the property.The inspection of property should not be based on opinion or aesthetics. Unfortunately this business does not abide by these guidelines. Buyers and sellers be warned. I am shocked this company has a license to operate!

Do not allow this guy near your home! He is however a buyers dream if they want your house at a drastically lower price because he will "find" things and even make up things that are wrong! If the buyer is not knowledgable of home construction, they will be scared to death when he is done. I personally believe that Lou Collier must have an ego the size of an elephant and believes that he knows more than any builder, class A contractor, certified electrician, certified plumber, professional roofer, or even the county inspectors. His reports are subjective and stray far from what is fact or what he is certified to deal with as a home inspector.

In the process of buying and selling three homes during my life I have had a few different home inspections performed and Mr. Collier was far and away the best. I found him to be personable, meticulous, and knowledgeable. The best was his report after the inspection. His report was typed and annotated with pictures taken during the inspection. It was detailed and thorough. It included approximate age and expected lifetimes of various home systems and components. I couldn't be more pleased. I have made the mistake in the past of using a home inspector that my relator recommended, not realizing that it is in the relators best interest if the home inspector doesn't find any real problems. Do yourself a favor and hire the best home inspector you can. It can save you time, money, and mental anguish. Thank you Mr. Collier.

Mr. Collier is excellent at what he does - very thorough and makes sure that he covers everything. very knowledgeable and knows houses better than any other inspector i have worked with. he is not going to sugar coat his findings and will be very hoenst about everything he finds and what his estimates for fixing these problems would be. EXCELLENT!

I agree with the posters who state that this guy makes up stuff and causes trouble. He is a disaster and should be avoided. There are a lot of good home inspectors out there but this guy appears to have no clue what he is doing. Take your business elsewhere. He scares potential home buyers with his reports. What an idiot! Zero stars for this looser.

WARNING!!!!! He is a SCAM ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent IF you are the buyer, and want to negotiate the price even LOWER! Got up on the roof and looked inside the "roof caps" to take pictures. He convinced the buyers they needed a new roof, by actually comparing my roof to the other four houses in our Cul-De-Sac. Be careful of the realtor he is working too!!! Will definitely be keeping this inspection ($20,000.00 of repairs-on a house we just spent $43,000.00 rehabbing and restoring) for review by the better bussiness bureau. Also doing my homework on who else this can be reported to!! The realtor is also being reported to the VAR!! If the buyer was buying my house, the report should say nothing else about the surrounding houses, or what kind of roofs they have-this is the kind of "subjective information" found in his report....he even went so far as to put a "sink hole" in his report, that is maintained by the city if Hanover. He is a JOKE!!!!!

I could not believe how AWFUL this inspection was - this guy made up problems that were not there, and they gave the most ludicrous estimations. I am warning you not to sign with these inspectors. We were extremely happy with Lou Collier's work on a home we purchased. Excellent communication in person, and a very detailed written report of his findings was given within 24 hours. Very thorough! Lou actually found about $7000 worth of problems with this home that a previous inspector had missed. (The sellers immediately saw from the extensive photographs in his report that Lou's findings were rock solid, and they quickly gave us a credit for the full amount we requested to cover those repairs.)
