• Crown Reduction
  Awarded by the National Arborist Association's Excellence in Arboricluture for work done to prevent large branch failures after the 250-year old tree was damaged in a winter storm. The work required extensive cabling, crown thinning and branch de-weighting.
• Tree Planting
  In an effort to increase urban tree canopy, Collier Arbor Care teams up with Friends of Trees to plant trees in targeted neighborhoods. Eastmoreland — hit particularly hard by dutch elm disease — has been an a focus of the events, as well as several neighborhoods in the Vancouver area. In addition to providing curb appeal and vitality to a neighborhood, the trees provide shade and cooling, and retain a lot of storm water runoff.

• Tree Pruning and Trimming
  Our arborists are balancing plant health, safety and artistry when pruning and shaping your plants from specimen shrubs or prized lace leaf maples to the largest shade and evergreen trees. We prune to emphasize a tree's natural shape. If the tree has structural problems, we can cable it to increase its safety. In natural disaster situations we provide priority, emergency tree damage response to our clients. We also expertly prune fruit trees to shape and optimize fruit production. All of our work is performed in accordance with Industry Standard (ANSI A-300) tree pruning guidelines.

  Collier Arbor is proud to be a division of Bartlett Tree Experts, and our staff now has the backing of an international tree-care company and tree research laboratory to help continue providing excellent tree service and shrub care in the Portland, Oregon area.
• Tree Cabling and Bracing
  In addition to cabling and pruning dead branches from the tree’s crown, Collier Arbor Care treated the tree organically to help control an infestation of oak pit scale and did soil and leaf tissue tests to determine nutrient levels and identify any deficiencies.

  Avoid using fresh woodchips from trees infected with Verticillium but it is OK to use composted mulch because the composting process kills most soil pathogens.

  The Landscape Services Eco-Logical Business Program is a certification that recognizes landscape design, installation and maintenance service contractors that reach the highest standards in environmental protection. It is the first program of its kind in the nation.The voluntary program is administered by the Pollution Prevention Outreach Team, a Portland metro area multi-agency group. �To be certified, a business must go beyond state and local requirements for pollution prevention, completing a rigorous 159 point checklist.� explains Debra Taevs, Oregon Director of the Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC).
