General Info

Dr. Cocieru earned his medical degree from State Medical and Pharmaceutical University in Moldova. He completed his general surgery residency at Republican Hospital and a fellowship in general surgery/minimally invasive surgery at Emergency Hospital, both located in Moldova. Dr. Cocieru continued his surgical training at the Cleveland Clinic where he completed a general surgery internship and conducted research focused on liver transplantation. He then completed a general surgery residency at Danbury Hospital, Connecticut and a fellowship in HPB (hepato-pancreato-biliary) surgical oncology at Duke University Medical Center. His specialty is surgical management of patients with diseases of the liver, pancreas and bile duct, both open and laparoscopic. He also performs a variety of general surgery and surgical oncology procedures.
