I write this as a long over due thank you to this particular station. The day shift from there, on the 17th of March, 2000 are amongst my heroes. Why? I had to call 911 as I was sick-there was a calamity of errors that could have killed me. Ironically, the day shift at station 10 did their job unlike a lot of others. As it turns out, that call to 911 in which they responded actually did save my life. I had no idea I had a nasty staph infection munching away at my mitral valve. I went through a lot afterwards, but the bottom line is when I couldn't make it to the door, they made sure I made it to a stretcher 3 flights of stairs down. So to that crew, where ever they are now, know that the one call that might look like a run of the mill sick call might be more serious than you'll ever know. Also know though, this one person considers you to be true heroes. (teary eyed) + Thank You.
