Insects and Spiders

• Ants
  Ants are an unwanted nuisance for homeowners across the country. They are a social insect that lives in colonies. In order to successfully control ants, you have to exterminate the entire colony. Simply spraying some ants you see will not see long-term success in ridding you of your ant problems.
• Spiders
  Like most other wasps, mud daubers are predators. The females not only build the nests, but also they hunt to provision them. However, pipe-organ mud dauber males have reportedly brought spiders to the nest, and they aid in nest guarding. Mud daubers are not normally aggressive, but can become belligerent when threatened. Stings are uncommon.
• Termites
  Termites cause billions of dollars in damage each year worldwide. They feed on wood but can also damage paper, insulation and more. They can infest a building at any time.
• Bed Bugs
  Once bed bugs have invaded your home, they can be a little difficult to eliminate. Their habits, size and hardy nature help contribute to their persistence in homes and apartments that they have invaded. An adult bed bug is about 1/4 of an inch long. • Fleas
  Fleas are wingless insects (1/16 to 1/8-inch (1.5 to 3.3 mm) long) that are agile, usually dark colored (for example, the reddish-brown of the cat flea), with tube-like mouth-parts adapted to feeding on the blood of their hosts. Their legs are long, the hind pair well adapted for jumping: a flea can jump vertically up to 7 inches (18 cm) and horizontally up to 13 inches (33 cm)...

  Cockroaches are one of the most common household pests not only in the United States, but in the entire world. On average, these roaches can range from anywhere between half an inch to inches long.
• Silverfish

  “song” of the cicada, shoots up like a missile and paralyzes the cicada. She then awkwardly flies back into the pre-drilled hole she made, carrying the cicada and feeds it to the larva (baby) waiting inside.

  Telltale signs of infested items are shot-like holes puncturing the outside packaging of food items and pockmarking solid items like crackers and pasta, as well as loose powder at the bottom of storage bags. While adult beetles do not feed, they are adept at chewing holes.
• Hornets
  The bald-faced hornet is a relative of the yellowjacket and gets its common name from its largely black color and mostly white face. This stinging insect is named a hornet because of its large size and aerial nest. Bald-faced hornets greatly resemble their yellowjacket relatives, with black bodies and a predominantly white-patterned face.
• Yellowjackets
  This hornet (also called Giant hornet) gets its common name from its introduction from Europe into the New York area in the 1800’s. European hornets are much larger than yellow jackets and unlike most stinging insects, can be active at night.
• Moths
  Tineidae is a family of moths in the order Lepidoptera. Collectively, they are known as fungus moths or tineid moths. The family contains considerably more than 3,000 species in more than 300 genera.

• Pantry Pests
  The larvae, which look like little worms, prefer to feed on coarsely ground flour and meal, but, commonly feed on whole grains, dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, beans, crackers, biscuits, dry dog food, birdseed, and red peppers. The larvae of this pantry pest produce silk webbing over the surface of the materials upon which they are feeding. The webbing contains large amounts of their frass.

• Mites
  Ticks (and mites) are arthropods, like spiders; all three belong to class Arachnida. There are more than 800 species of ticks throughout the world. Many organisms that bite humans for a blood meal are not ticks and should not be confused with ticks.
• Aphids
  Crazy ants prefer insects and sweets, but will feed on any household food. Outside, their preferred diet includes insects, seeds, fruits and honeydew from aphids, mealybugs and scale

Rodent Control

  Exclusion is also something one should consider in the war against rodents. You should consider closing any openings as wide as 1/4″, along with the elimination of any harborage sites that are not needed, such as waste piles, packing boxes, woodpiles, or heavy outside vegetation.
• Mice
  Mice are the most common pest in and around human living and workplaces. They damage and destroy materials by gnawing at and eating your food, especially cereal products, chocolate and nuts. They attack decorations such as floral or harvest/grain arrangements and carry human diseases and ectoparasites that may affect people or pets.
• Rats
  Mouse droppings are small, long and pointed compared to the larger, blunt droppings of rats. Although they usually live for only about a year, if all their offspring lived and reproduced at a similar rate, one pair of mice could produce a population of more than 500 mice in one year.
