The use of rocks is a therapeutic technique that I have used with clients to help provide narratives which lead to relational healing. As the layers of the rocks begin to tell their stories, the layers of healing slowly begin to reconnect the places of brokenness. Through the use of creative symbolism and metaphoric themes, narratives can be expressed as the rocks have been identified. "Rocks in the Sand" is a way of helping the client to narrate their story. The technique evolved through a personal journey as a daughter, a mother, a wife, a woman, and her work with her clients.
