My family had a vehicle mishap on 69N out of McAlester. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol called this wrecker service, and the young driver was very nice. He towed me 5 miles and charged me $113.00. I think that is a real rip-off. I talked to a local wrecker in my home town, and they drove @65 miles one-way, picked up a vehicle and brought it back for @$230.00. I have tried several times to get in touch with the manager but with no response. I certainly don't mind paying for a service, but I also don't like to get hosed. The problem is when you are in need of one of these guys, they sock it to you. A young lady at my insurance office was talking to the main Insurance Office, and the girl on the other end said she had needed to be towed in Oklahoma, and it was 30 miles. The fee was @$65.00. I have a friend in our town that has had to use a wrecked several times trying to get a car back in running condition. It averages around $50.00 to $55.00 for up to 15 miles. Be very careful.
