General Info
I have been in the field of Mental Health for 40 years. I continue a private practice in Natchitoches, LA and Marshall, TX. I provide Supervision to individuals in the process of obtaining their licenses as Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists in both TX and LA, and to those therapist who are in the process of obtaining Clinical Membership and Supervision status in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapist. My treatment philosophy is based on a respect for the uniqueness of each person, each marriage, and each family; and the understanding that problems often require unique solutions. Although many problems have their beginnings in the past, I believe that solutions result from changing what is happening now. The role of the therapist is to help clarify the problem and assist the client in bringing about desired change. The therapy process focuses on improving personal coping skills and developing healthy relationships. The goal of therapy is very much focused upon eliminating the symptom or problem presented during the initial session.
