General Info

Dr. Sanders joined Terrace Pediatric Group in July 2013. He grew up in Tullahoma, TN and received his bachelor’s degree at Vanderbilt University. He went on to receive his medical degree at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Deciding for a change in scenery, he moved to Tucson, AZ, where he completed his pediatric residency at the University of Arizona. During his final year of residency, he was given the award for primary care, which recognized him for excellence in outpatient medicine. After residency, Dr. Sanders worked in Brentwood for two years before moving to Nashville. He has been married to his wife, Emily, since 2008, and she works as a reading and language arts teacher in a local elementary school. Together, they have developed a passion for encouraging the joy of reading in the community. They’ve also spent time together volunteering in Rwanda, where he worked in a rural health clinic and hospital and she taught English to young schoolchildren and orphans. They have a lovely little girl, named Charlie, who keeps them very busy when they get home from work. He enjoys staying active, including running and taking walks with his two energetic dogs.
