Provided by YP.comWhat a wonderful experience I had when visiting the Metro Animal Shelter. I was greeted warmly and was soon meeting prospective cats for adoption. Terri, who assisted my was so kind and caring. She also introduced me to Lorrie who is a wealth of knowledge. They were both willing and able to tell me about the cats as well as help me in the selection process. The shelter was clean and the animals well cared for. They have a nice "play" room to meet the animals and see how the react to the prospective "parent". I was able to sit down with the cats and watch there reaction. Gracie soon stole my heart with her loud purrrr and her loving ways.
The staff spent time answering all my questions and providing me the ability to select the cats and hold them until I could pick up the needed supplies to care for them properly. They helped me now what kind of food they were used to, suggested bowl, litter boxes, etc. That was a big help as this is my first time having cats.
It was a bittersweet time for the staff as they had grown fond of Gracie and Sarah Mittens, but they were also so joyful they found a good home.
There were many caring volunteers there playing with the animals and helping others visit and select a pet. There were a lot of happy faces -- people and pets.
I would encourance anyone seeking a pet to visit the Metro Animal Shelter and meet the many animals who need a good home and the wonderful caring people who are looking after them.
