Sheldon Isenberg, LCSW has been a practicing counseling professional now for a long while in Naperville. Shelly sees a range of clients with the many issues that concern them from life disrupting issues to life transitional concerns. Married some 45 years now to Raye, also a professional counselor, who shared the practice for some 30 years he knows something about what it takes to still enjoy each other after all these years. Shelly helps couples change their stale, distancing and conflictual communication patterns with one another into conversations which help them with the problems they must face in their busy lives. Shelly enjoys working with a range of couples from pre-marital couples to couples in retirement. Shelly has the perspective and judgement to be a good guide. He has a particular ability in working with men who are very reluctant to come into counseling, either for themselves or with their partners, but need to if their lives are to be happier and less difficult for others. He can be down to earth and personally relate to the real concerns and pride that men have. Shelly also works very well with women who are seeking to grow themselves out of the stuck places within themselves and their relationships and who prefer to work with a man. In his couple's work he knows how to give each partner's needs the attention each deserves without ignoring where the other one is coming from. He is a 25 year member of the Naperville Chamber of Commerce. Married for 45 years, he is the father of two married adult sons and lives in Naperville where he and Raye raised their family and developed their practice. His office is the historic Jefferson Hill Building in downtown Naperville next to convenient city parking.
