B & D Video Productions began doing business in 1982. Owners Basil and Donna Mannino thought the introduction of the portable VCR might enable wedding couples to capture all the sights and sounds of their special day and preserve them for many years to come. After attending several training seminars, they became among the first videographers in this area. Their intuitions were correct, and within a couple of years they were spending most of their Saturdays from spring to late fall videotaping weddings. As the technology improved, they went from single camera productions with little editing to multi-camera productions with extensive editing , special effects, and music. Their business expanded into the area of dance recitals, First Holy Communions, sports banquets, and other special events. Currently, they are beginning their 30th year in business, and although they no longer videotape weddings they are still available for special events that can be taped in two hours or less. With the advent of smaller user friendly cameras, more and more people captured their special occasions on videotape themselves. With the digital age arriving and the analog age ending many customers find themselves with boxes of old videotapes they can no longer play.
