  Part of any Archer’s Lube, Oil, & Filter Service includes checking the tire pressures and air filter.  By request, we can have our technician visually examine the fuel system for carbon deposits and recommend a fuel injection service (if necessary).

Transmission and Drivetrain

  The best way to avoid costly transmission-related problems is to maintain the fluid.  While not required as often as the engine oil change, proper transmission fluid flush services are an easy way to optimize performance and service life.  More than 90% of all transmission failures are linked to overheating or fluid contamination.   A typical ‘drain & refill’ transmission service may only replace 40% of the old fluid, while leaving behind sludge and varnish.  These deposits can lead to shifting problems and transmission failure.  At Archer’s, we use contemporary equipment to flush out the entire transmission system.  This process not only removes 95% of the old fluid and deposits, it conditions and extends the life of the new fluid.  We recommend that you have your vehicle’s ATF checked for servicing about every 60,000 miles.

  The power steering system is designed to allow easier turning and improved responsiveness for the driver.  This is achieved through a series of pumps and valves containing a special hydraulic fluid.  When working properly, only about 20% of the necessary force to steer the vehicle is required of the driver.
• Steering Fluid Service
  Archer’s Action Auto provides a comprehensive Power Steering Fluid Flush Service. Our technicians use a specific pressurized machine which pumps new fluid through the system along with a proprietary additive. This service removes the old fluid along with 95% of all contaminants and built-up sludge. All fluids wear out at different rates based on driving conditions. We recommend checking the fluid periodically to best determine when this service may be necessary (rather than a predetermined mileage).
• CV Boot Replacement
  A common cause of CV joint failure is cracks in the CV boot.  When the boot is cracked, it allows dirt and grit to mix with the grease and wear down the parts of the joint.  A clicking noise heard when turning is the most common symptom of CV joint problems.  The CV boots should be replaced as soon as cracking is visible in their rubber folds.

  Our technician will then hook up a refrigerant recovery machine, place the system in a state of vacuum, and measure the amount of refrigerant remaining in the system.  This is evacuated (along with any air/moisture) and recycled.  The proper capacity for the vehicle is referenced then recharged with new refrigerant.  An ultraviolet dye & oil is added to aid in the detection of any leaks.  By utilizing a blacklight, our technician can now pinpoint even the smallest leaks in your air conditioning system.

  Archer’s Action Auto is certified to deal over 30 major tire brands.  If we don’t have immediate stock of a certain size we can surely order it for you.  Our prices are competitive both locally and nationally.  When ordering tires online, keep in mind that there are additional costs incurred.  Shipping can be expensive and then you must still find a shop to mount the new tires for you (plus provide an alignment).  Fully considering tire rotations and unforeseen tire leaks, Archer’s firmly believes that whatever few dollars you may save initially is more than compensated through our friendly and reliable services.

  Upon request, Archer’s Action Auto will provide a complimentary amperage check of any vehicle battery.  You will be provided a printed slip from our battery tester stating the expected cold cranking amps (CCA) compared to the actual CCA your battery is storing.  If your battery needs replacement, 95% of the time we will install a new one for free.  Rare exceptions occur if the battery is ‘buried’ in an inconvenient location and our mechanics must spend significant time replacing it.
