*UPDATING REVIEW DUE TO ISSUES AFTER PURCHASING MY DRESS*
Changing the rating based on the alterations department. Went from 5 stars to a one star experience.
I wanted to add on cap sleeves to my gown, they cost me $99 for two tiny straps. I wanted to purchase just the straps to sew on myself since they ran $50 but they would not allow me to, and told me they can only be sold with alterations sewing them on which would cost me $99. I said ok and did that.
When I had alterations do my sleeves I had to put my dress on. They took me in the back into a tiny room and had me put the dress on. The main lady was helping another bride to be. She called another girl from the back that did not speak one word of English and had no idea what she as doing. I kept trying to show her where she needed to pin the sleeves to make it work and she didn't understand me at all. The other girl had to keep stopping what she was doing to help her and it was a super awkward weird intense situation. Not to mention it was so HOT, I was dripping sweat just standing there getting frustrated that the person that is helping me with my $100 straps could not communicate with me or do it correctly. After about 45 mins the other lady got them pinned on and I left, worried, frustrated and frazzled.
They told me it was going to take one month to have my two straps sewn on, which was pushing it because after this experience i decided to get my other alterations elsewhere for my June wedding ( only a few months before wedding ). Covid-19 hit and it was time to pick up my dress but all the stores were closed. I contacted customer service via a text hotline and they told me they would have my dress mailed out to me and I would get a confirmation email. Weeks went by and I still did not receive an email, the text customer service hotline could not help assist, and there was no manager in the stores answering the calls coming in or calling the brides to let them know what was going on.
About 2 1/2 months later finally a manager in alterations called and said my dress was ready for pickup. I could not pick it up that day and she said ok they have it ready and to call when I can get it. A few days later on the weekend I called and spoke to someone in alterations to pick up my dress, the gal i talked to could not find my dress anywhere in the shop. This left me frustrated with no answers and she said someone would be in touch. Received a call the next day from the manager saying it was ready, went in and picked up the dress...
Tried my dress on ( only about a 1 1/2 weeks before my wedding) to find that that sew the straps on in the wrong spot. AFTER ALL OF THAT!! and paying $99 for it!!! They looked awful and it was such poor quality and both side's didn't even match!!! I had to take off the straps myself very carefully to sew them back on. I also wasn't ever able to get any other alterations done because it was to close to the wedding, so my dress was EXTREMELY to long for me and not altered... Davids Bridal Alterations department, you ruined my entire dress and made me feel HORRIBLE on my wedding day. Brides beware!!!
I understand Covid happened, but they should of had managers or alterations calling all the brides for updates. When they did it was months after the fact, told them my wedding date hadn't changed and they said they would get to work on it right away. Which took another month. This whole process was a joke and an embarrassment for such a large corporation!
DAVIDS BRIDAL SHOPPING & Buying Experience :
The gal that helped me here was awesome!! Got me all the dresses I needed and checked all the information I needed as well! Narrowed it down to two dress and was able to purchase my dress with a coupon I received! The gals that fitted me and helped me through the process were fantastic, they gave me 5 star service and made me feel beautiful!
