Chop House in the Boro is our favorite restaurant. Many of our friends we have introduced to the Chop House feel the same way. Great food and service at reasonable prices in a very nice atmosphere. The special $10 menu can't be beat.
Neither the food no the service were very good. Ordinary is a high compliment for the food. Went in for our Anniversary on Thursday. I ordered a steak with additional mushrooms. It was thin and didn't have much flavor, it was just sort of there. My wife had the medallions with some kind sauce. The sauce tasted like mayonnaise. The manager came by and we told him that we were not happy with the food. Each meal came with a salad and one vegetable. The "Huge" sweet potato was small. My wife said it seemed like the food was a frozen dinner, heated in a microwave. We had two servers, neither of which was very attentive and somewhat hard to locate. As we mentioned it was our anniversary, they gave us a brownie with a scoop of ice cream - whee! We had no trouble getting in at 6:30 and it never was more than about half full. I understand why. The bill as $45 before the tip.
