Records Section is a part of the Operational Division of the Murfreesboro Police Department, which is administered by the government of Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Records Section is responsible for the storage and maintenance of records and properties submitted by police officers. It maintains a records management system that features computerized data entries. The section s officials also receive telephone inquiries and mail request reports. Its records personnel submit the local statistical data of incidents to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. In addition, Records Section compiles local crime trend data, as well as prepares and assists periodic police auctions to dispose of properties that have been authorized for disposition by courts.
