General Info
Dr. Charnetski practices in our Peckville and Mountaintop offices. She joined Northeastern Eye Institute in 2005. Dr. Charnetski received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Wilkes University and an additional Bachelor's Degree and Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Elkins Park, PA. She was awarded clinical honors in each of her externship rotations to include primary care and contact lens, ocular disease and pediatrics. She also completed a Fellowship in pre and post operative care of cataract and refractive surgery at Bucci Laser Vision, Wilkes-Barre, and authored several papers which have been presented at national meetings in optometry and ophthalmology. Dr. Charnetski is Past President of the Wilkes University Alumni Board of Directors. She is on the Board of Trustees at Wilkes University and a mentor to undergraduate undergraduate Psychology and pre-optometry students. A member of various board committees and frequent guest speaker on campus and active animal rescue advocate and volunteer for Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge. In 2011, Dr. Charnetski was awarded the honor of one of the Times Leader's 40 Under 40. Dr. Charnetski is a Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and a member of the Koscuiszko Foundation. Dr. Charnetski recently completed “Contact Lens Innovations Training” at The Vision Care Institute, LLC in Jacksonville, FL. She was also a Clinical Investigator for an Allergan eye drop pre-market study and part of CIBA Vision’s Focus Night and Day Clinical Council Symposium in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Charnetski is a member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association and Northeast Pennsylvania Optometric Society. Dr. Charnetski's main interests are in ocular disease and geriatric eyecare.
